The definition according to the World Federation of Occupational Therapy is:
“Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned with promoting health and well being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.” (2012)
It is working with the person to assist them to complete the activities that they want to.
More specifically, Total Angles enables people to remain as independent as possible. Total Angles has a special interest in providing assessments that assist the individual. This may include an older person who is no longer able to safely use their back steps, or a person who has a life limiting condition to be able to remain at home. Total Angles is able to provide recommendations for home modifications, equipment or new ideas to remain independent. This enables the person to maintain their dignity and respect.
